From intern to Prevention Director, Allison Jarvis has called Bacon Street her home since fall of 2018. Fancying herself a lifelong student, she spent decades working towards her hard earned BS from Old Dominion University. She graduated in 2019 with a major in Human Services and has completed coursework towards a MSW. Bacon Street appealed to Allison because the adolescent population experiencing substance use disorders and mental health concerns is personal. Having overcome her own challenges during her teen – young adult years, she is an empathetic presence to youth. Being the mother of a young adult, she also understands concerns felt by parents/caregivers – no matter how smooth or bumpy of a path they may incur. Speaking of paths, that is where you will find her outside of the office. Allison enjoys cycling, camping, and being outdoors in general along with admiring art in all of its forms, random road trips, her ornery rescue cat, Rhubarb, and the time she gets to spend with friends and family.
