Getting Ready for Prom! FAQ & and Information for Guests

Thank you for joining us for the 6th Annual “ An Evening For Bacon Street” Gala, themed Second Chance Prom. We can’t wait to see you at 5:30 pm on April 15th at the Williamsburg Lodge! As you get ready for the most fun you’ve had since 2020, there are a few things to keep in mind as the night gets closer.

  1. To speed up the check-in and check-out process, please review your event account, and verify that all contact information is correct and that you have the correct credit card attached to the account. Checks and cash will be accepted at checkout in addition to credit cards, so no card is needed on file if you plan to use cash or check.
  2. All silent auction bidding will be done through the mobile application and will show your bids, wins, and donations throughout the night. You access the mobile application through the link sent to your phone after ticket purchase.
    1. Couples that registered with 1 cell phone number for the pair do not need to each create an account unless both want to bid separately.
    2. Guests of sponsors should have received the link for their account at registration OR on April 1st.
    3. Any guests who do not receive their link by April 1st should email cbooker@baconstreet.org to update their phone number and receive their link. (Note that links are only sent to cell phones, so you will need to provide that to bid)
  3. Bacon Street Youth and Family Services is committed to providing a safe event. To ensure the safety of all in attendance, we are encouraging staff, volunteers, and guests to register with CrowdPass. Please register here. We reserve the right to require registration with CrowdPass if the state or CDC COVID guidelines change in the days leading up to the event.
  4. Parking for the event is located at 300 Newport Ave, Williamsburg, VA. Due to the remote parking, Sydney Duvall from Gypsy Gal Adventures has graciously donated her services to get you from the parking lot to the door, in true prom fashion! Signs will be posted in the parking lot where she will scoop you up and drop you off throughout the night.
  5. The Williamsburg Lodge has many entrances and hallways, so to help you find your way to the Colony Room where we are holding the Second Chance Prom, keep an eye out for well-dressed teens that will usher you in! Be sure to thank these wonderful volunteers for their time and compliment them on their snazzy wardrobes.
  6. Coat check and restrooms are located just outside of the event space.
  7. The Sunset Reception, sponsored by Abbitt Realty, begins in the beautiful courtyard across from the registration area. Appetizers and beverages will be available at the Sunset Reception until 6:30 pm as you bid on silent auction items.
  8. We will have a phone charging station conveniently located in the event space, but we recommend you bring your charger just in case.
  9. The VIP auction preview will be sent out on Saturday, April 9, at 9 am to our Junior Prom level sponsors. The silent auction will open for bidding on Monday, April 11th, at 9 am.

To sponsors, if you haven’t sent in your completed guest list yet, please do so by 4/12. Send guest information to cbooker@baconstreet.org

Sponsor guests who are not registered prior to the event should expect to spend 5-15 minutes checking in and their meal selection will be chicken.

If you have any questions, contact Crystal Booker at cbooker@baconsteet.org or 757-253-0111 ext 210

See you all Friday at 5:30 pm!
