Home First Williamsburg is a collaborative pilot program between the City of Williamsburg’s Human Services Department, 3e Restoration, and Bacon Street Youth & Family Services. Funded by a grant from Sentara Cares, our agencies are breaking the cycle of homelessness for 5 families (3 to start) through this new program. By taking a trauma-informed, housing-first approach, we are able to support each family by meeting their individual needs, physically and emotionally.

Our three agencies are working together to establish a well-rounded care continuum that includes existing community resources and new or non-traditional ones. As 3e meets the housing needs of each family and the City of Williamsburg’s Human Services Department provides case management and resource connections, Bacon Street is focusing on each family’s mental health wellbeing. By utilizing the strengths of each agency, we are empowering these families to meet their goals and remain housed and healthy.

There is no easy path to precarious housing and houselessness. Our clinicians at Bacon Street specialize in youth and family counseling, offering a safe space to have open and honest conversations. By addressing the trauma and challenges to each family’s mental health, we are helping support the building of resilience needed to take back control of their lives and prevent future houselessness.

We are in awe of the work that 3e and the City of Williamsburg’s Human Services Department do for our community. They provide transformative experiences for so many of our neighbors and friends, and it is an honor to partner with them. With this partnership and the support of Sentara Cares, we are incredibly grateful to contribute to the positive impact this pilot will have on our community and the families we serve.
