The Journey Home Program
The Journey Home Project is a grant funded project that will allow Bacon Street to expand services to the Hampton Roads Community. In addition to our Williamsburg office, the grant will allow us to open offices in Gloucester, Yorktown, and Hampton/Newport News. Traditional Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling services will be offered at all locations. In addition, all locations will also be offering Case Management services to those in the community who are in need of assistance meeting their basic needs. Our Hampton/Newport News location will also serve as a drop-in center for youth ages 12-26 who are homeless or precariously housed. Here, participants can receive two hot meals per day, laundry services, access to showers and personal hygiene products, access to nap rooms, daily groups, referrals for additional services, and school/vocational assistance. The main focus of the Journey Home Project is to enhance our capacity to serve youth and families in Hampton Roads who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, and mental health.
