Williamsburg Parent Support Group – 247 McLaws Circle, Williamsburg, VA  23185

The Williamsburg Parent Support Group has been a mainstay of the programming that Bacon Street has provided for the past several decades, and is always held on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. at the BSYFS offices.  This group is completely open to the public (you do not need to be a client to attend!) and parents and family members of those struggling with addiction or substance use are encouraged to join us!  This drop in group is FREE.

Poquoson/York County Parent Support Group – The Fountains of Poquoson Conference Center, 200 Fountains Lane, Poquoson, Virginia, VA 23662

The Poquoson/York County Parent Support Group is newly added to the programming schedule, and is always held on Wednesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. at the Fountains of Poquoson Conference Center.  This group is completely open to the public (you do not need to be a client to attend!) and parents and family members of those struggling with addiction or substance use are encouraged to join us!  This drop in group is FREE.

“Say Yes to No” Parent Education Classes – Poquoson (New Location!!) – The Fountains of Poquoson Conference Center, 200 Fountains Lane, Poquoson, Virginia, VA 23662

Say Yes to No is a 5 week Parent Education Class that is designed for parents with children of all ages and is based on the award winning book by Dr. David Walsh, “No: Why Kids -of All Ages- Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It.” This program operates for five weeks and is held at our NEW POQUOSON SITE!  The cost for the program is $25.00/family for the five weeks, and dinner is provided.  If you would like to register, please click on the link above!  Programs will be filled on a first come first served basis, and we will do our best to arrange the groups based on the age(s) of the children in the family.  For more information about the program, click here!

REVIVE Trainings (all sites)

REVIVE! is the Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education (OONE) program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. REVIVE! provides training to professionals, stakeholders, and others on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of naloxone (Narcan ®).  REVIVE! is a collaborative effort led by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) working alongside the Virginia Department of Health, the Virginia Department of Health Professions, recovery community organizations such as the McShin Foundation, OneCare of Southwest Virginia, the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia (SAARA), and other stakeholders.  Bacon Street Youth and Family Services is providing monthly FREE REVIVE trainings to lay members of the community to learn about how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose.  For more information about REVIVE, click here!
