COVID-19 Operational Updates and Resources

Bacon Street is prepared to help you and your loved ones.  To keep everyone safe and help control the spread of COVID-19, we have made changes to our daily operations. 

Counseling sessions, social work services, and prevention programs continue on a normal schedule.  However, our staff are working remotely; our offices are currently closed. Staff can be reached at (757) 253-0111 Monday through Friday during normal business hours.  If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling

Our licensed therapists can offer individual and family counseling sessions using telehealth visits (video and phone).  We are able to schedule existing and new clients who live in Williamsburg, James City County, York County, Poquoson, Newport News, Hampton, and Gloucester & Mathews Counties.

Counseling and case work for anyone who is homeless or precariously housed, struggling with a substance use disorder, and age 10-26 (or has children who are). A day center located at 329 Buckroe Avenue in Hampton is open by appointment for families in need of showers, laundry, and a hot meal (use the 109, 115 and 120 buses). Our school-based mindfulness program moves online! Join Ariel Tal, clinician and mindfulness program lead, as he helps you learn to focus and manage stress.

Resources for Teens, Young People, and their Caregivers

Partnership for Drug-Free Kids offers free, confidential text support and online communities for parents and caregivers to help them address their child’s or loved ones’ substance abuse.  There are also links to helpful resources, including how to use naloxone and how to help kids stop (or never start) vaping. 

Access recovery support, including AA and NA meetings, from home.
